Overview
VSYN+ is a groundbreaking streaming platform tailored to the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Designed to elevate ASL-first content, the brand needed an identity that was expressive, accessible, and deeply rooted in the community it serves. The project focused on developing not just a logo, but an entire visual system that could communicate inclusivity and innovation.
Contributions
Brand Application Design
I supported the concept and identity phase by creating a wide range of real-world mockups that demonstrated the brand in action. This included billboards, bus shelter posters, smartphone interfaces, iPhone icons, social media layouts, posters, and merchandise. Many of these visuals were included in the final brand guidelines to communicate how the identity translates across environments.
Platform and Visual Assets
To support the streaming experience, I designed the title-safe video frame system used for title cards on VSYN+. I also developed branded swag and internal-facing materials including t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, email signatures, and mockups for customer service representatives.
Case Study Video
I edited and animated the official case study video, highlighting behind-the-scenes collaboration between the ASL community and the La Visual team. This included an animated breakdown of the logo’s meaning and cultural connection, as well as color correction and editing of recorded workshop footage.
Impact
VSYN+ launched as a purpose-driven platform embraced by the ASL community. Its brand identity played a central role in connecting with audiences through expressive visuals and inclusive design. The platform gained public visibility through initiatives like ASL-interpreted concerts at Musikfest 2023, covered by Lehigh Valley News. This moment demonstrated how the brand extended beyond digital media into real-world cultural spaces, reinforcing VSYN+ as a leader in accessible entertainment.
